Paul Aiesi has played an active role in every investment program that has been sponsored by Graycliff Capital since its founding. Paul works closely with the other members of the Graycliff team on Development, Acquisitions, Dispositions, and Asset Management.  During his tenure with the firm, Paul has played a key role in expanding into real estate development and also development of senior housing facilities to further diversify Graycliff’s established acquisition investment programs. Graycliff has successfully completed development projects utilizing traditional bank financing as well as HUD insured products, giving flexibility in finding the most attractive investment financing options.

Prior to joining Graycliff, Paul was the Chief Investment Officer for a national real estate syndication firm, where he was directly responsible for approximately $800 million in transaction volume.  He also was active in establishing that firm’s asset management platform and worked on numerous development projects.

An avid aviation enthusiast, Paul regularly flies both light airplanes and maintains qualifications as a professional pilot flying a Boeing 767 and 757 several days each month for a major international airline.

Paul graduated magna cum laude from Furman University in 1998 where he served as President of the Student Body and was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa honor society.

Andy Reiken formed Graycliff Capital with Don Spalding in 2009. He has over 21 years of experience in structured real estate finance and strategic real estate investing. Andrew actively utilizes his comprehensive industry relationships to originate direct investment opportunities and provide structuring expertise, financing experience and price structuring for all investments.

Prior to co-founding Graycliff, Andrew was the co-head of Capital Markets division within Real Estate Structured Finance at Macquarie Holding (U.S.A), Inc. Andrew joined Macquarie from LaSalle Bank, where he was the head of large loan pricing and execution in addition to being in charge of commercial mortgage distribution (bonds, B-notes, mezzanine debt). Andrew also spent over eight years at Goldman Sachs before joining LaSalle, where he worked on all aspects of real estate lending and ultimately was the head of commercial mortgage distribution (bonds, B-notes, mezzanine debt).

Andrew is a graduate of Union College and holds a Master of Science in Real Estate Valuation from New York University and a Master of Business Administration in Finance from Michigan State University.

Don Spalding formed Graycliff Capital with Andrew Reiken in 2009. He has 24 years of experience in debt and equity origination and structuring. Donald is active in overseeing the asset management process and is a voting member of the Investment Committee.

Prior to co-founding Graycliff Capital, Donald was the Head of Production for North America for LaSalle Bank/ABN AMRO, where he was responsible for the origination, structuring and closing of real estate investments. Under his leadership, loan volume increased from $400 million in 2002 to over $12 billion in 2007, and revenues increased from $10 million to over $150 million. Before joining LaSalle, Donald worked for GE Capital and PNC Bank in various capacities.

Donald earned his Bachelor’s degree from Syracuse University’s School of Management. He also holds a Master’s in Public Management from Carnegie Mellon University, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude.

Taylor Davis has 20 years’ experience in multifamily property management and development. He’s also the President of NHE, Inc., the property management firm that directly manages many of Graycliff’s investments. NHE has more than 45 years of expertise in real estate and over 35 years in the management of multifamily communities. It is a full service real estate company that delivers property management, accounting, regulatory reporting, maintenance, leasing, and marketing to its portfolio of 10 owned properties (1,290 units) and 54 third party managed properties (1,642 units).

NHE has extensive experience in apartment sectors including Market Rate Multifamily, Section 8 Multifamily, HUD Section 202 (Elderly), HUD Section 811 CMI, HUD Section 811/202 (Developmentally Disabled), Section 221(d)4, Section 515 (Elderly Rural Housing) and Condo Associations

Will McCauley has 23 years’ experience in commercial property construction and development; he’s also the President of Creative Builders, Inc., a general contractor with over 45 years’ experience building projects in the Southeast. As President of Creative Builders, Inc., Will facilitates Graycliff’s pursuit of ground-up development and also heavy property renovation projects.

Creative Builders actively builds properties of all types and is one of the more active general contractors in the multifamily space in the region. Additionally, Creative Builders is proficient with projects that are financed by HUD, as well as HUD-backed affordable housing projects.

Will is a 1993 graduate of Clemson University, with a Bachelor of Science in Construction Science & Management.

Caitlin coordinates and oversees property management in regards to all financial aspects of an asset’s performance. She creates and oversees the business plans of assets, as well as oversees all transactions and sales. In addition, she provides monthly updates to the entire Asset Management team outlining future projections. Caitlin also manages corporate overhead and financials, including payroll/benefits, administrative expenses and annual budgeting. She coordinates, reviews and submits all tax returns, and oversees all treasury management and credit facilities.

Caitlin joined the Graycliff team with over a decade of accounting experience. Prior to coming to Graycliff, she worked as a Senior Tax Accountant for Denny’s Corporation, reviewing Federal and multi-state tax issues, managing all state and local income tax audits, and preparing Federal consolidated, state and local tax returns. She also spent many years at Elliott Davis, LLC/PLLC, starting as an intern and working her way up to Tax Manager, where her responsibilities spanned from managing audits for corporate clients to supervising and reviewing the work of staff and senior accountants.

Caitlin received her Bachelor’s of Science in Accounting and Legal Studies in 2006 from Clemson University, graduating Magna Cum Laude. She also received her Master’s from Clemson, graduating Cum Laude with a Master’s of Professional Accountancy with an Emphasis in Taxation.

Jennifer is responsible for managing the implementation of the company’s strategies and overseeing their success throughout many areas of the firm including client services, closing document and report preparation, contract negotiations, loan compliance, internal and affiliate process management as well as team development. She works closely with other executive positions within the firm as well as the affiliated companies to increase productivity and achieve company goals.

When she first joined the Graycliff team, Jennifer started out as a Real Estate Coordinator. She provided support to the executives and other key members of the team throughout all areas of the organization when needed. Her main responsibilities were under client services, acquisitions & dispositions, lender communication and office administrative duties. Jennifer was promoted to Director of Operations in November of 2014.

Jennifer graduated Summa Cum Laude from Clemson University in 2010, where she was an active volunteer in the local community and a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. She is currently working on her Master of Business Administration degree and will graduate in the summer of 2017.

As the Director of Development, Seth is responsible for executing new construction development opportunities, including: deal origination, underwriting, due diligence, and design & programming.

Seth has +10 years of real estate experience in the industrial and multi-family sectors. Since joining Graycliff, he has been the lead developer on +1,100 new apartment units with an estimated total value of +$200 million.

Originally from Summerville, SC, Seth earned his Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate from the University of South Carolina and a Master’s in Real Estate Development (MRED) from Clemson University. He is a licensed South Carolina real estate broker, and an active member of Urban Land Institute (ULI) and the National Multifamily Housing Council (“NMHC”).

Julie provides integral support to all members of the team in areas including accounting, investor relations, real estate transactions and office management. She assists with report preparation, compliance requirements and other large-scale projects, while juggling them with superb accuracy and strong administrative skills. Her exceptional customer service, attention to detail and excellent problem solving skills make her an invaluable asset at Graycliff.

Prior to joining Graycliff, Julie worked as a tax attorney for 29 years, doing bookkeeping and trust administration. She is a graduate of the University of South Carolina.

Andrew is responsible for assessing asset performance by analyzing cash flows, market trends, and services contracts against actual performance. His goal is to help operator performance match that which is expected by investors. He achieves this goal by identifying trends and variances in asset performance and helps our operators identify and implement a corrective strategy to operate as efficiently as possible. He also assists in the preparation of investor reports, year-end lender reporting, and oversight of new asset onboarding.

Before he joined the Graycliff team, Andrew worked in the public sector for Greenville County where he assisted local municipalities with land use planning, site review, zoning, and land development issues, developed comprehensive plans, and authored county-wide ordinances. Prior to his public service, Andrew worked with an affordable housing non-profit as a property manager and resource development officer. He also assisted in securing financing (federal grants and loans in addition to traditional debt financing) and co-managed the construction and lease up phases for seventeen individual new construction single-family homes in addition to the company’s existing portfolio of single family attached and detached houses.

Andrew graduated Summa Cum Laude from North Greenville University in 2011 with an Honors Diploma where he served as an academic tutor. He is currently serving a second consecutive term on the YMCA Judson Community Center (YMCA of Greenville) board where he helps facilitate the branch’s outreach to families in need (financial support to provide affordable programing). He also received a Master of Business Administration from Clemson with an emphasis in Real Estate in 2017.

Katie provides support to all members of the team including areas of investor relations, real estate transactions, corporate data and marketing.  She assists with transaction operations, report preparation, compliance requirements and other corporate projects. Katie also manages the social media outlets and website for the Graycliff team. Her goal is to promote Graycliff Capital Partners in the Upstate area and beyond.

Prior to joining Graycliff, Katie worked at TruColor Printing and Marketing, as an account manager. She also worked as a Special Education teacher in Greenville, South Carolina.  She is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Madison.

Katie provides support to all members of the team in regards to all financial aspects of an asset’s performance. Katie is a Certified Public Accountant. She is responsible for tracking and computing transactions, corporate monthly reporting, tax returns, and all tax related items. She also creates projections and completes financial analysis, as well as assists the team with monthly reports and budgets for each asset. Katie brings a wealth of knowledge from her previous work experience and is a valued addition to the Graycliff team.

 

Prior to joining Graycliff, Katie worked as a tax accountant for several years at Elliott Davis, LLC/PLLC. After several internships, she began working as a Tax Staff and eventually as a Tax Senior. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Clemson University and received her Bachelor’s of Science in Accounting and Financial Management.  Katie went on to earn her Master’s of Professional Accountancy with an emphasis in Taxation from Clemson.

Bill Connor

Bill Connor

Bill oversees the design and construction activities within Graycliff Capital’s new development line of business.  This includes site development, preconstruction services, development design and construction management.  Bill has 18 years of construction management experience and has been involved with over 2,000 units totaling over $275 million dollars.  He has also managed various industrial and commercial projects in the Southeast.

Prior to joining Graycliff Capital, Bill was a Director of Project Management for CBRE.  There he oversaw the Project Management of all South Carolina projects for CBRE.  Prior to his time in the CRE sector Bill worked in Project Management for some of the most reputable General Contractors in the Southeast.  Most recently he was a Senior Project Manager with Creative Builders.

Bill received his BS in Civil Engineering and BA in Business Management from the University of Kentucky.
